Fortunately, there are free professional development options that will help you fill the gap, including the following Envision by WorldStrides courses. Envision’s courses were designed to provide you with tips and tricks to enhance teaching in the COVID-19 world of online and blended education models. Best Practices in Online Education
This is a great one-hour class for anyone in a distance learning model. You’ll learn key management skills and on-camera instructional strategies, as well as how to implement smorgasbord learning and give and get feedback.
Best Practices in Student Engagement
How do you keep kids engaged in online learning? This course covers best practices, including setting expectations, creating student buy-in, and encouraging communication.
STEM @ Home Series
Whether you choose The Challenge (grades 2-6) or Scratch Coding (grades 5-9), you’ll leave with the lesson plans, grading rubrics, and background knowledge you need to facilitate a hands-on STEM assignment for your students either live in the classroom or online.
Leadership Theory and Practice
While not explicitly about online education, this course is great for any educator interested in learning the fundamental theories of leadership and applying it to their personal development and that of their students.
Dimensions of Diversity: Racial Equity & Allyship in Education
This course is so timely and so needed. Learn strategies to implement meaningful changes to support your students, including creating brave spaces, having courageous conversations, and combatting microaggressions.
